As a music producer, I am committed to diversifying my approach based on the genre I am working on. I am also versatile in that I can both play an instrument and use software for music production.
My usual genre and style of music is HipHop/Trap with a bit of RnB here and there.
With just eight months of experience as a producer, I am continually learning and developing my skills. There are still several areas where I need improvement, as reflected in the skills audit image below.

As part of my course, I am now required to learn new Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) that align with industry standards. To remain adaptable, I must expand my knowledge beyond the DAWs I have previously worked with.
Currently, my sampling skills are at a solid level, and I utilize third-party applications, such as Splice, to source samples. However, I aim to enhance my sampling abilities, becoming more fluent and experimental in my approach.
In terms of sound design, I recognize that my synthesis skills need improvement. While I primarily rely on presets, I aspire to gain proficiency in creating sounds from scratch, particularly in using Low-Frequency Oscillators (LFOs) and oscillators.
I also wish to deepen my understanding of remixing, which is closely related to sampling. My goal is to learn how to completely transform the genre and overall vibe of a song through remixing.
Regarding mixing, I acknowledge the need for improvement. I am looking to discover user-friendly and effective VST plugins that can help me streamline my workflow and produce a higher-quality mix.
Lastly, my mastering skills require significant development. I need to better understand concepts like mid/side EQ, as well as general EQ’ing techniques for mastering, in order to achieve a more polished and dynamic final track, whether that be a punchier or smoother master, depending on the song’s requirements.
